What does CAURD-licensed mean?
CAURD stands for Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary. Yerba Buena holds a CAURD license (OCM-CAURD-24-000167), which means we're part of New York's equity-focused approach to building a fair cannabis industry. You can verify our license on cannabis.ny.gov.

Why do dispensary edibles sometimes feel less potent than homemade or unregulated products?
It usually comes down to consistency, not weakness. Every edible sold at a licensed dispensary is lab tested, so the THC amount on the label is what you're actually getting, dose after dose. Homemade or unregulated products often vary widely from batch to batch, which can create the feeling of a stronger, less predictable effect, but that inconsistency is exactly what makes them harder to dose safely. Regulated edibles are built for a predictable experience, not necessarily a bigger one.
What are nano-emulsion or fast-acting cannabis beverages?
Nano-emulsion beverages are cannabis drinks where the THC has been broken down into tiny particles so your body can absorb it faster. Instead of the usual 30 to 90 minutes for a traditional edible, nano-emulsion drinks can start working in as little as fifteen to twenty minutes. That faster, more predictable onset is part of why they've become a popular pick for social occasions and casual sipping. Explore the full range in our beverages collection.
Can I find edibles specifically for sleep or relaxation at a Brooklyn dispensary?
Yes. Our edibles selection includes chocolates and gummies formulated with CBN, a cannabinoid many people reach for in the evening (our guide to cannabinoids breaks down what CBN and other compounds actually do), alongside calming, low-dose chews meant to help you unwind rather than energize you. Good options whether you're winding down in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, or anywhere nearby. Start with a lower dose in the evening, since edibles take time to kick in and you don't want to be wide awake waiting for effects that haven't arrived yet.

Can I order online for pickup?
Yes! You can browse our full cannabis menu online and place an order for pickup at our Cobble Hill dispensary. Just select your products, check out, and we'll have your order ready when you arrive at 292 Atlantic Ave.

Cannabis Basics
What's the difference between indica, sativa, and hybrid?
Indica strains are traditionally associated with relaxation and body effects, while sativa strains tend to be more energizing and cerebral. Hybrids combine characteristics of both. That said, modern cannabis science shows that the actual effects depend more on the specific cannabinoid and terpene profile than the indica/sativa label alone. Our budtenders can help you find strains that match the experience you're looking for.
What are edibles and how do they work?
Edibles are cannabis-infused food and drink products—gummies, chocolates, beverages, mints, and more. Unlike smoking or vaping, edibles are processed through your digestive system, which means they take longer to kick in (usually 30 minutes to 2 hours) but the effects tend to last longer. We recommend starting with a low dose (2.5–5mg THC) and waiting at least 2 hours before consuming more. Browse our Cobble Hill edibles selection, or read our Cannabis 101 guide if you're new to this.
What's the difference between THC and CBD?
THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis—it's what produces the "high." CBD (cannabidiol) is non-psychoactive and is associated with relaxation, pain relief, and reduced anxiety without intoxication. Many of our products contain different ratios of THC to CBD, so you can choose the balance that works best for you. Our budtenders can explain the options.
How should I store my cannabis products?
Store cannabis flower in a cool, dark place in an airtight container to preserve freshness and potency. Avoid direct sunlight, heat, and excessive moisture. Edibles should be kept in their original packaging in a cool spot, and many benefit from refrigeration after opening. Vape cartridges should be stored upright at room temperature. Always keep all cannabis products out of reach of children and pets.
What's the best cannabis strain for beginners?
If you're new to cannabis, we recommend starting with a balanced hybrid or a strain with lower THC content. Our budtenders at Yerba Buena are happy to walk you through options based on the experience you're looking for—whether that's relaxation, creativity, or gentle relief. Visit us in Cobble Hill and we'll help you find the perfect fit. You can also check out our cannabis education guides to learn more before your visit.
How do I choose the right edible dosage for my experience level?
If you're new to cannabis, start low. Most beginners do well with 2mg to 5mg of THC per serving, enough to feel a gentle effect without feeling overwhelmed. Experienced consumers often move up to 10mg or more, depending on tolerance and the effect they're after. Since edibles take longer to kick in than flower or vapes, give it at least an hour before deciding whether you need more. For how other formats compare, see our guide on different ways to consume cannabis.
How long do the effects of cannabis edibles last compared to smoking?
Edibles take longer to kick in, usually 30 to 90 minutes, since THC has to be digested before it reaches your bloodstream. Once they hit, though, they last: typically four to six hours, sometimes longer, compared to one to three hours with smoked flower or vapes. That longer, steadier experience is why a lot of Brooklyn shoppers reach for edibles when they want something that lasts through an evening, not just an hour.
Are THC gummies legal to purchase in New York?
Yes. Adults 21 and older can legally purchase THC gummies and other cannabis edibles at licensed dispensaries like Yerba Buena, no medical card required. You'll need a valid, government issued ID at the door. First time in a dispensary? Our guide on what to expect during your first visit walks through exactly how it works.
